Has AACS DRM Been Cracked Using BackupHDDVD?

Of course, us fanboys at Redmond Gadgets knew about the reported Zune DRM hack that was reported earlier this week. This supposed hack made rounds like wild fire over the Internet. It was posted to digg.com and the Apple fanboys there quickly made the story a front page item by digging it over 1000 times.

Everything about the reported hack had suspicious tones to it: "unconfirmed sources", "Swedish hacker". As you may know the Zune hasn't been launched in Europe yet. Even though the report did address this fact saying that the hacker had a contact in the US who sent him one. The original report was made via an online forum at ZuneBoards.com.

Nothing about the supposed hack sounded right, nor was there any legitimate agency reporting it or confirming the story, so we didn't post it. Just another case of overzealousness, and Apple fanboys make for a reckless combination.

We say digg you were pwned! Calm down now and a have a cappuccino.
