The AP is reporting that Microsoft will be releasing for download (it's actually available for download today) AURA which stands for Advanced User Resource Annotation system. The software enables consumers to take snapshots of bar codes from products which would then be sent to AURA, the software would then return information about that product. Eventually Microsoft hopes AURA to become community driven where consumers would add their own annotations to products for later access by other AURA users.
