Currently Intel and VIA are in the UMPC, now AMD is upping the ante. According to DigiTimes, AMD is going to launch the Geode LX 900 CPU aimed specifically at the UMPC market. Running at 667 MHz, this chip is to compete against the 1 GHz offerings from VIA and Intel.

AMD did launch late last year, their CS5536 chipset and it is reported that a few models have incorporated the chip.
