I got Vista running on my Samsung Q1 a while back. Everything is working great for me. The Vista Media Center experience makes it a new machine.
Over at JKOnTheRun.com there is a discussion on the support for Vista on the Q1. It's an interesting thread to see who's been able to get it working.

I don't know which category to place this in, but endgadget is reporting that HTC is going to release a UMPC like Windows Mobile device codenamed "Mobile Office Device". This device reportedly is going to have a 7" screen which places it closer into the UMPC category, but will be running Windows M ...

Currently Intel and VIA are in the UMPC, now AMD is upping the ante. According to DigiTimes, AMD is going to launch the Geode LX 900 CPU aimed specifically at the UMPC market. Running at 667 MHz, this chip is to compete against the 1 GHz offerings from VIA and Intel.
AMD did launch late last year, their CS5536 chipset and it is reported that a few models have incorporated the chip.

JKontheRun.com has posted a video on the new Origami Experience coming out very soon (said to be within a week).
I'm debating if Origami Experience is needed or not. After installing Vista on my Samsung Q1, the Vista Media Center appears to do most of what Origami Experience does. I can navigate the entire interface of Media Center using the buttons on the Q1. The only feature I see that Origami Experience has over Media Center is the ...

One of the big drawbacks of the Samsung Q1 is the lack of pointer capabilities on the joystick. Currently you can move the pointer with the joystick, but the movement as anything but smooth. It appears work is being done by a member of the OrigamiProject.com community. The software it still early in the development phase, but there looks to be hope.

The all new US700 series UMPC (via carrypad.com). This UMPC is Vista out of the gate with integrated web cam, Intel Celeron M 1.06 Ghz CPU, 7 inch display and most of the standard features we saw from the 2006 UMPC models. The main thing setting this apart is the design is a bit different, it appears to have a beveled side rather than being flat on the surface, and being loaded with Vista makes it one of the few UMPCs that are.

Hugo Ortega writes about his experience moving over to the UMPC as his primary platform.
I tried this myself at one time, but found it impossible to do. I'm a developer and writing code on the UMPC platform doesn't work at all. Another problem is I watch TV on my desktop with Media Center and use the DVR capabilities, something you can't really do on the UMPC. The UMPC is my travel PC, or if I need to do a presentation it works well in those conditions.

Gizmodo has some pics of the new UMPC from Amtek. All running Vista.
And to further confuse the consumer you notice how the word "Vistagami" has been tossed around to describe the UMPC? Just look at the note by Amtek at the CES in the first pic on Gizmodo. Did we call the previous version XPGami? Now we have Origami, UMPC, Ultra-portable, Vistagami, the names just won't end
